Work smart – not hard
Today I want to talk about the basic means for making and saving money. This will be the start of a series of post that I hope will help you achieve the drive and motivation to create financial freedom.
There are a number of way to become financially free.
- You can win the lottery (chances are millions to one)
- You can rob a bank (no guarantee you will be free, or live, to enjoy the loot)
- You can work your butt of for your entire life (and be too old to enjoy your savings)
- You can climb the corporate ladder (you are owned by the corporation and will be working in the 70+ hours a week range)
- Invest in the stock market (must have a strong heart the way it is fluctuating)
- Invest in real estate (you are controlled by the banks)
Or you can work smart.
Working smart is building a recurring income which is not taking all you time to control it’s growth.
Yes you will still have to work (there are no free lunches) but your work load can be reduced to a few hours a week. With today’s technology, and depending on your line of business, you may be able to run every thing from home, or while traveling, with your laptop computer.
Build your dream. I am not talking about those dreams you have sleeping. I am talking about building a dream in side of you. A burning desire to be some where, make something do something.
Everything man has achieved was built from a dream.
- Thomas Edison dreamt of an electric light bulb
- Henry Ford dreamt of a horseless carriage
- The Wright brothers dreamt of flying
- George Parker dreamt of a pen using ink
- F.W. Woolworth dreamt of dime stores throughout the US
I think you may be getting the idea (excuse the pun). Every home, bridge, road, came from someones dream. Perhaps they did dream of it while asleep, but they had the forethought to have a pen and paper beside the bed to write down the basics before they went back to sleep and forgot about the dream.
Build Your Dream.
If money was no object what would you like to do.
I can sit here and rattle of dozens of ideas about paying off you bills, travelling the world, buying new cars, relocating to a better suburb. But it’s your dream that is going to get you going.
You have to find out what is going to motivate YOU.
For more personal correspondence fill in the form above. I will continue to post on this blog in this series but hope that I can follow up with those who would like to go a bit deeper in their learning.
